Cinelli drop 3: all-new explorer cycling cap

Cinelli drop 3: all-new explorer cycling cap

Forget what you know about cycling caps! Here, we like to shake things up. With a multi-panel design, packable brim and elastic closure, we bring an alternative Cinelli style to the classic cycling cap. Developed internally and entirely handmade in Italy from high density woven PFTE free, water resistant, windproof and breathable organic cotton. The explorer cycling cap is available in 4 distinctive styles.

With the Cactus explorer cycling cap we return to our original "Cactus" story which was first used on the 1992 edition of a cult Cinelli mountain bike, the Vamos, the Cactus graphics were born from an Italian play on words (“Bici del Cactus”: iykyk) and express Cinelli’s spikey, ironic and humorous spirit. As well as a love for dirt roads and singletracks!

The embroidered patch which features on the Cinelli owners club explorer cap was inspired by grassroots owner clubs of vintage British motorcycle brands where embroidered patches are often found sewn onto leather vests and denim jackets. The Cinelli Milano Owner’s Club plaque is a nod to this underground aesthetic at the same time as a homage to our own dedicated community and camaraderie that spontaneously occurs when two Cinelli owners meet out on the road...

The Sadeghi-Ray Kitten explorer cycling cap was designed as part of the Cineli art program in collaboration with Shana Sadeghi-Ray. Shana is a Boston-born multi-disciplinary artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Her recent work revolves around exploring her obsessive desire to collect, where she finds herself in mediums such as jewellery-making, crochet and collage. She designed the Kitten story exclusively for Cinelli and we can’t get enough of it, a cute kitten playing with a cyclist, what more do you need? The cotton-candy colours make it extra easy on your eyes.

Surfing and cycling collide in waves with the Cinelli Gerry Wedd Cyclist Surfer Explorer cap. Another exciting piece created through the Cinelli art program. Gerry Wedd is one of Australia’s most celebrated ceramicists, working from a studio in his garden and surfing whenever he can - a lifestyle we salute!
